At Raging Pools, we recognize the critical role that swimming pool pumps and filters play with ensuring the quality of water in a swimming pool. The pump circulates the water through the filter, allowing the filter to purify the water and properly distribute the chemicals. Ensuring the pool is always crystal clear is our main priority, and proper circulation is the key.

Filters are the technology used ensuring the clarity of the water. There are three types of swimming pool filters:

• Cartridge Filters – this filter is made to trap debris as small as 10-15 microns. It has a large surface area allowing for less clogs and easy maintenance. These filters run at low pressures taking the stress off of the pump, providing more flow. Cartridge elements should be cleaned twice a year.
• D. E. Filters – this filter is made to trap debris as small as 2-5 microns. Diatomaceous Earth (D.E.) is the fossilized exoskeletons of tiny diatoms. They are used to coat the “grids” in the filter housing, allowing for the removal of pool water particles. When the pressure rises on a D.E. filter, it is backwashed and recharged with more D.E.
